Find Makarov Countdown Finishes: No MW3, but Movie Coming
Late last week we wrote an article suggesting that Activision had confirmed that the findmakarov.com countdown timer was all a hoax, we were skeptical as the site looked very professional, however the countdown timer finished roughly 10 minutes ago and nothing happened when it reached zero.
We were hoping to see some teaser information regarding a future Call of Duty video game, perhaps Modern Warfare 3, or perhaps a movie announcement, however all we saw was the countdown timer stuck on zero, now when we try to access findmakarov.com the site is down.
This could mean one of two things, either the servers have crashed due to the volume of interest or it was all a hoax, perhaps we were meant to see a launch trailer for a new game, or perhaps it was a trick all along, all we can say is there are a lot of disappointed gamers out there at the moment.
The reaction on Twitter has been huge, you can see the most recent tweets here, a few suggest that the FindMakarov site has been used to promote an upcoming live action film called Find Makarov Modern Warfare, which seems to be a spin-off from Modern Warfare 2′s story, we have embedded the trailer video below, if this is the case we are sure that a lot of people out there will be hugely disappointed.
