Nokia N8 Vs iPhone 4: Which Camera is better?

For those of you thinking of picking up the recently released Nokia N8 smartphone, all eyes will be on the camera to see if it the 12 megapixel sensor can deliver the best pictures on a mobile device.
We have a detailed comparison now, comparing picture quality with the camera on the iPhone 4. You may think that it is a mismatch due to the iPhone 4 only having a 5MP camera, but Apple’s device actually gives the N8 a good run for it’s money.
Engadget has uploaded a series of photos on their website, giving you a thorough analysis on picture quality on both devices. They have firstly taken single images on the N8 and iPhone 4 (HDR off) and then another series of pictures side-by-sde for close-up comparisons.
Having taken a look at the side-by-side aspect of their comparison, I have to say that the Nokia N8 seems to be producing more realistic images than the iPhone 4, but that is only the slightest criticism I have of the sensor on the iPhone 4.
However, don’t forget that this is a comparison between 5MP and 12MP sensors, and the iPhone doesn’t look out of place at all. It just goes to show that a higher MP count isn’t always necessarily the best.
Take a look at their full comparison over at their website, there is also a video too.
