Samsung Continuum Official Specs: Android 2.1 not 2.2

There had been rumors that the Samsung Continuum would be announced yesterday, and as suggested, it was. The new Galaxy S smartphone will be available on Verizon on November 11th, but there was a shock for us. It seems that the new handset will come with Google Android 2.1 and not 2.2.

I do find this strange, as 2.3 is now being worked on and could be out by next month. We wonder how having the old mobile OS will affect speed and battery performance? Will having the older version of Android put you off buying the Continuum?

Samsung announced these details on Twitter, but they later gave more details during their live event. View our recent article where we have a hands-on video of the new Galaxy S handset, where you get to see that secondary color screen in action.

Some of the specs include: 3.4-inch and 1.8-inch Super AMOLED display, Android 2.1, Samsung 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5-megapixel camera, Bing Maps / Bing Search, and so much more. For more details visit Android Guys.

Are you happy with the fact that the Samsung Continuum runs Android 2.1 and has Bing Maps and Search?
